The 75-year-old monarch refrained from appearing in public for three months after he was diagnosed with cancer. During this period, he continued to work with documents and regularly hosted British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

Charles III is 75 years old. He became king on September 8, 2022 after the death of his mother, was crowned on May 6, 2023 and became the oldest British monarch to ascend the throne.

He entered a private clinic in London on January 26 and was discharged on January 29. At that time, it was reported that he was feeling well, but would have to spend "some time alone", so all upcoming events with his participation were postponed.

Cancer Treatment

The King has started cancer treatment since February 5, will undergo it on an outpatient basis in London and, on the advice of doctors, will cancel all meetings with members of the public for the duration of treatment. At the same time, he will continue to work with government documents, Buckingham Palace said.

The press release does not say anything about the treatment, but it is noted that the doctors are extremely encouraged by the progress in restoring the king's health and their prognosis remains positive. His Majesty is expected to receive Emperor Naruhito of Japan and Empress Masako in June.
