Torrevieja to become Spain's cryptocurrency center with the support of Apymeco

Yesterday at the Torrevieja CTC the first meeting was held to coordinate the launch of the project of the first crypto town in Torrevieja, a pioneering initiative in Spain aimed at promoting the use of cryptocurrencies as a means of payment in the city of Torrevieja.
The meeting was organized by Apymeco and Torrevieja City Council. The meeting was attended by Jorge Almarcha, President of Apymeco, Pedro Andres Garcías, Vice President of Apymeco, Rosario Martínez Chazzarra, Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Trade and Manufacturing Sectors.
At this first meeting, the main characteristics, goals and impact of the project, as well as the stages of its implementation were discussed.
The event was attended by the main groups and dynamic associations of the city of Torrevieja, such as the Department of Trade and Tourism, the Hospitality Association, the Habaneras Shopping Center, the Quirón Hospital, the University of Alicante, the Business Association of the Industrial Complex, Hostel-Camp, Tabisam and Apymeco.
Project Apymeco is a local trade initiative that aims to promote innovation, inclusion and competitiveness of local businesses by offering customers from all over the world the ability to pay with cryptocurrencies.
Torrevieja - the cryptocurrency center of Spain
The project has already registered more than 100 participants representing enterprises from various industries who have signed up on the waiting list to take part in the official launch of the project. Participants will receive training, consultation and technical support from Bitnovo Pay and Apymeco.
Project implementation stages
The project will consist of three phases of implementation and planning:
- The first phase will focus on developing trade using cryptocurrencies as a means of payment, aiming to make it easier for consumers and businesses to obtain products and services using cryptocurrencies and other crypto-assets.
- The second stage will be aimed at creating a positive impact on the environment, the main goal of which is sustainable development and restoration of natural spaces.
- The third phase will focus on boosting employment and business in the city and will help create new jobs and finance companies in the technology sector.
The Apymeco initiative has a social and educational component, as it aims to raise public awareness of the benefits of cryptocurrencies, both for economic development and the environment, as well as to educate merchants and consumers on the operation and benefits of this new payment system.
