Finestrat Gastronomic Market 2025: a celebration of taste, tradition and crafts
22 AprilWhat to see in Finestrat on April 26 and 27 — the main events of the spring weekend
Finestrat, a picturesque town in the province of Alicante, invites residents and visitors to one of the most exciting spring events — the Gastronomic and Craft Market, which will take place on April 26 and 27, 2025. This is not just a bazaar — it is a journey through time, culture and taste, where everyone will find something to their liking.
From sheep to sock: crafts that come to life before your eyes
When we talk about traditions, we are not only talking about food. In the streets of the old center of Finestrat, craftsmen will show how:
- wool is obtained and processed by hand,
- iron is forged using heat, force and a hammer,
- products are created from esparto (a traditional plant fiber),
- pottery and silver processing.
These are real live master classes where you can not only watch, but also try them yourself.
Valencian street food: "arròs amb fesols i naps" and other delicacies
The gastronomic part of the market deserves special attention. One of the main dishes will be arròs amb fesols i naps - a hearty and aromatic rice dish with beans and turnips, prepared according to an old recipe right on the street. In addition, you can try:
- locally produced cheeses and meat delicacies,
- homemade pastries and sweets,
- wines and liqueurs of the Valencia region.
"Human Towers" and street performances: cultural program
One of the most impressive shows will be the performances of the group Muixeranga d'Alacant, who will build "human towers" - a traditional show that amazes with its synchronicity and bravery of the participants.
Throughout the day there will be:
- musical concerts and processions,
- street performances,
- live folk music.
What to do in Finestrat with children: program for the little ones
For families with children, there is a rich and fun program:
- children's mini-disco,
- face painting and costumed characters,
- petting zoo,
- traveling storyteller and forest fair.
This is a great opportunity to spend the weekend with the whole family without going far.
How to get to the Finestrat market: transfer, parking and tips
To make the journey easier, the organisers are running free buses from the La Cala area, stopping in residential areas. Departure times are at 9:45 and 16:00. Return trips are at 14:00 and 21:30.
If you are planning to come by car, there is a large free car park at the La Foia sports complex, from where a convenient shuttle bus runs to the venue.
