The best cities to live with children in Alicante and Valencia

One of Spain's main advantages is its affordable cost of living and relatively low housing prices, which makes it attractive to families with different income levels. The country has both prestigious private schools and free public educational institutions. If you decide to move to Spain with children, it is important to choose a suitable city to live in. Let's take a look at some great options in Valencia and Alicante.

Torrevieja

Torrevieja is a city popular among immigrants on the Mediterranean coast. Despite its small size, the city has a developed infrastructure that provides everything necessary for life and recreation. Housing prices here are very affordable, both for purchase and for rent.

Torrevieja is ideal for families with children. Due to the compactness of the city, everything you need is within walking distance: magnificent beaches, cafes and restaurants, playgrounds, the Park of Nations with a variety of birds, excellent schools (private and public), as well as a large selection of sports sections for children of all ages, including the Sports Palace.

Near the city there is a unique natural park of the lagoons of La Mata and Torrevieja - an excellent place for family weekends and photo sessions. The salt lakes of La Mata enrich the air with healing minerals, which is an additional advantage for living in Torrevieja.

Torrevieja is a cosmopolitan city where the people are friendly and helpful. Strong national communities have been formed here, supporting each other.

Alicante

Alicante is a sunny and warm city that is ideal for living with children. The city has a developed infrastructure, beautiful beaches, many attractions and a large selection of schools and places for family leisure.

Alicante has many parks for walking with children, a beautiful promenade and port, the ancient fortress of Santa Barbara, cafes, bars and restaurants, playgrounds and shops. Even without special plans, you can always stroll along Explanada Boulevard with souvenirs, toys and sweets, admire the yachts and feed the fish on the embankment, or enjoy the fantastic ficus trees on Canalejas Boulevard.

Guardamar del Segura

Guardamar del Segura is a calm and picturesque town, suitable for children and retirees. It is famous for its 11 km of beaches with golden sand and unique natural landscapes - sand dunes. Along the beaches there is a promenade with many cafes, bars and restaurants serving local cuisine.

The main attraction of Guardamar is a huge park with pine and eucalyptus trees, created to prevent the dunes from encroaching on the city. Over time, the park has become a well-kept green area with clean air, walking paths, ponds with carp, turtles, swans and ducks, as well as squirrels that you can feed by hand. The park has a playground and attractions for children of all ages.

Guardamar has several schools, kindergartens, shops, sports clubs and a surf school for children and adults. There is also a summer camp focused on surfing and learning English.

When choosing a city to live in Spain, you should take into account the individual needs of your family. Torrevieja, Alicante and Guardamar del Segura offer excellent conditions for living with children, each with their own unique advantages.

Calpe

Calpe is a surprisingly picturesque city, ideal for living with children. Here you will find beautiful natural scenery, rich culture and history, as well as a high standard of living and safety. The city does not have disadvantaged areas; mostly people of middle and high incomes live here, preferring a quiet life surrounded by nature and away from tourist crowds. Despite its status as a resort town, Calpe is always quiet and cozy.

Calpe offers a variety of beaches - both sandy and rocky. Many of them are great for snorkeling. Children and adults alike will be delighted by the local underwater flora and fauna, especially in the protected area at Ifach Rock.

The infrastructure of Calpe makes the city comfortable for family living. There are several schools (public, private and semi-public), kindergartens, many places for children's leisure and sports activities, cafes and restaurants.

Benidorm, Finestrat, Villajoyosa, Polop

Finestrat

The area of Cala de Finestrat, adjacent to Benidorm, and the prestigious area of Sierra Cortina attract both Spaniards and foreigners. Here you will find a wonderful climate, magnificent views and a high standard of living. A few minutes' drive away are Benidorm's amusement parks - Terra Mitica, Terra Natura, Aqualandia - real holidays for children and adults.

Villajoyosa

Villajoyosa, known as the "chocolate capital" of the Costa Blanca thanks to the Valor chocolate factory and museum, is a picturesque town with colorful fishermen's houses by the sea. Silence, comfort, beautiful nature and clean air are valued here.
