Spain is going to join a number of countries that regulate cannabis use
Spain is following the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO), which has called on the international community to ease controls on the trafficking of this substance for medical use.
The results of public surveys recently show a steady trend in favor of legalizing cannabis, and it is no coincidence that marijuana is the third most popular substance after alcohol and tobacco, in addition, almost half of the respondents believe that legalizing this plant will bring the business of its cultivation and sale out of the shadows and bring billions of euros a year to the economy countries.
Legal use of cannabis is currently allowed in the following cases:
✅ medical use as prescribed by a doctor, sale through pharmacy chains in the form of capsules, inhalers, and even tea for cancer patients in order to mitigate the effects of chemotherapy, Alzheimer's disease, multiple sclerosis, etc.
We are talking about drugs with fewer active substances (THC and CBD)
✅ cultivation (only indoors) and the use of cannabis for personal needs, in volumes that do not allow for sale, some regions establish appropriate standards at the legislative level
✅ sales of cannabis seeds and related accessories in stores (Grow shops) for adults only
The use of cannabis is not allowed and entails administrative or criminal liability in the following cases:
❌ cultivation, storage exceeding acceptable standards, as well as the sale of any amount of the substance.
❌ use and storage in public places, with the exception of special clubs, membership in which is previously confirmed to an adult participant
At the same time, the legislator intends to tighten responsibility for the turnover of synthetic cannabis species that cause strong and rapid addiction, the use of which for medical purposes is unacceptable
