An unusual Football Match in Germany
An unusual football match took place in the German city of Gern, which attracted the attention of not only football fans, but also the general public. The peculiarity of this match was that one of the teams entered the field completely naked. The German newspaper BILD reported that this match took place on May 1 at the Schloß Strünkede stadium.
Protest Against The Commercialization Of Football
The NACKTional team, consisting of 11 players (9 men and 2 women), competed with the Pottoriginale All Stars team. The athletes from NACKTional took to the field completely naked, explaining it as an act of protest against the commercialization of football. The match organizer, Gerrit Starczewski, noted that their team opposes the excessive commercialization of football and related problems such as the influence of UEFA, the German Football Association (DFB) and marketing trends that destroy the primordial spirit of the game.
Organizer's comments
Starczewski explained that the match also had a symbolic meaning. He sought to draw attention to the themes of diversity and naturalness, as well as to the negative aspects of social media that promote false ideals of beauty. According to Starczewski, football is becoming more and more commercialized, and such promotions serve as a reminder that the game should be about humanity, not about marketing and profit.
Starczewski even joked that the match is "more enjoyable than sex," adding that the cool breeze adds an additional element to the aesthetics of naked bodies on the football field. About 1,000 spectators watched this unusual event in the stands, which underlines the interest in such non-standard forms of protest and artistic expression.
History Repeats Itself
It is worth noting that this is not the first time that a football match involving naked players has been held in Germany. The first such match took place in 2015 also in Guernsey. Nevertheless, such games remain rare, which makes each of these events special and attracts close attention to it.
