School bus fire in Madrid
A fire in a school van this morning at kilometer 61 of the A-1 motorway, near the municipality of La Cabrera in Madrid, caused minor injuries to several people, a spokesman for Emergencias Comunidad de Madrid told Europa Press.
The affected vehicle was a school van transporting students to school. Some students received minor injuries, such as cuts from broken glass, while trying to get out of the van. All passengers managed to get out of the car.
After receiving a call from the rescue service at 08.12, two fire brigades from the Fire Department of the Community of Madrid went to the scene and brought the fire under control.
Via Twitter, the rescue service asked drivers to be careful on the affected section of the freeway, as SUMMA 112 and Civil Guard personnel continue to operate.
