The Tender for the Resurfacing and Repair of the Levante Dam in Torrevieja has been Approved
The City Council of Torrevieja, in its last Local Government Meeting, approved the file to contract the resurfacing and repair works of the Levante Dam. This time, the tender will be conducted through an open procedure, subject to harmonized regulation. This is a highly relevant project, partially financed with funds from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan of the European Union.
The initial budget for the tender of the integral repair works of the Levante Dam is 8,463,183.22 euros (with VAT), with a deadline of 9 months from the signing of the Restatement Act. This new tender process was initiated after an error was detected in the technical evaluation of one of the tenders, which prevented the continuation of the previous procedure by means of a Framework Agreement. With the opening of this new invitation to tender, a period of 35 calendar days is granted to submit tenders from the moment the contract notice is sent to the Official Journal of the European Union (DOVE).
The project is based on an accessibility study to ensure that the Levante Dam is accessible to all citizens, promoting equal opportunities and active participation in society. The works will cover a total of 1,247 linear meters. To select the materials and components of the repair, several studies were carried out to design a project that fits current needs. PAVEMENTS
The removal of all existing paving and woodwork is decided. It is opted for the placement of a continuous technological wood flooring, in light tones.
RAILINGS
It is decided to use stainless steel as the material for the new railings to be installed.
COMPOSITION OF SPACE
The solution consists in replacing the bouncer by a bench with a high-performance concrete finish with a machined polished finish, a glossy finish and without pores similar to the polished texture of granite or marble stone, with its back to the sea, that is, continuing with the current philosophy of the promenade, with the exception of opening in different sections, free spaces with a railing open to the sea.
TREATMENT OF THE LEVEE WALL
It is decided to perform an intense blasting removing paint residues, performing a subsequent colorless chemical fixation, which in turn protects with an anti-graffiti treatment.
Finally, it should be noted that the resurfacing and repair project of the Levante Dam contemplates the connection with the port's operation through an elevated platform that will link the dam itself with the leisure area, as well as the renovation of the existing public lighting on the parallel road to increase, if possible, the value of one of the most representative infrastructures of the city of Torrevieja, such as the Levante Dam.
