Alicante province camping association expects to reach close to 100% occupancy during Easter holidays due to good temperatures and "good rhythm" already registered reservations, which make up 70 percent in the plots and 85% in the houses.

These details will be added to last-minute bookings "increasingly" according to a statement from the Alicante Camping Association published Tuesday Tuesday.

Campsite occupancy for Easter

The organization's president, Sergio Gomez, pointed out that the sector "has to deal with more and more last-minute bookings," meaning that these tourists' behavior is "more like" hotel users. In this sense, he pointed out that camping clients "improvise more and more, wait for offers and watch the weather at their destination until the last moment."

He also emphasized that Easter is "usually very good for coastal destinations and for all the offers that coastal destinations offer, from the south of the province to the north." "In addition, the province also has an interesting domestic offer, where camping offers very interesting experiences related to nature," he stressed.

In terms of the tourist profile for Easter, the Association's forecast indicates a higher percentage of tourists of national origin compared to other seasons when there are more foreign clients.

Gómez stressed that the province of Alicante is one of the favorite destinations for holidaymakers from all over Spain, with more than 28,000 locations (7,000 plots and 1,500 cottages). In addition, he added that one of the factors that "stand out the most" campsites Alicante, is its "value proposition ideal for families, with activities for all ages, tropical pools and water areas open from Easter". These characteristics are added to the "excellent" gastronomy.

"Without a doubt, we can face a great Easter week for a sector that is important for other sectors associated with the tourist destination, such as restaurants, shops or leisure. In addition, it will help us keep abreast of the next summer season,” he concluded.
